Cheese! by The Real Bev[_6_]
I bought some 'Coast' cheese from Costco a few months ago. When I found it again in the back of the refrigerator it had acquired some blue mold -- just like blue cheese. It's just on the surface and it tastes fine -- just like blue cheese. I think there's a handy hint in here somewhere... --...

Frugal long lasting hobbies? by Breaking Wind
I was wondering what kind of hobbies are frugal and fun long term? I read that a person usually spends 5 years or less on a hobby and I've found this to be mostly true. I've been playing video games for most of my life but have now almost completely stopped. I'm disappointed in the direction...

Nasal Strips, Do-It-Yourself by David Wimberley
I have used Breathe Right nasal strips with success, but they are quite expensive. For awhile I was able to purchase less expensive strips on eBay, but that source dried out. Eventually I decided to try to make my own. I have been happy with the results. Commercial nasal strips have an...

DIY liquid chlorinator by Anthony[_2_]
I live in Texas where septic systems are pretty well governed. They require that the aerator systems be adequately chlorinated... which I am grateful I don't have to smell my neighbors discharge. However, I am becoming annoyed at spending $180+ every year for chlorine tablets when I understand...

Mini "gold mine" in the woods of Maine! by [email protected]
Just heard about this...kind of weird that I should see the news in the Miami Herald first...but I suspect that it would be pretty hard to find a meteorite THAT big. (They tend to break into much smaller pieces than what the scientists are asking for,...

Senators Call On FTC To Do Something About Misleading Fashion Sites by bleak_fire_
https://consumerist.com/2016/04/13/senators-call-on-ftc-to-do-something- about-misleading-fashion-sites/ It seems that someone in the offices of Senators Richard Blumenthal (D- CT) or Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), or perhaps both senators, has either ordered clothing from a misleading China-based...

Call blockers by KenK
Anyone found a good call blocker for a regular land line phone with caller id? I tried a Pro Call Blocker from Amazon but returned it - terrible instructions, errorful operation. Looked at CPR Call Blocker reviews and user manual. Seems to handle entry of blocked calls badly - press button...

Depends Magazine Subscription by [email protected]
As I age, I've decided to get a "Depends Magazine" Subscription. They mail you a monthly magazine. The pages are made from "Depends" adult diapers. After your read the print on them, you just rip them out and use them as diapers. What a great idea!
